Description: The 200 Peso Mexican Gold Coin is a special edition of the traditional 50 Peso Mexican Gold Coin or Centenario. This coin was minted for the celebration of 200 years of Mexico’s independence from Spanish Rule. With a limited mintage of 50,000, this coin is a unique coin with great collector appeal.
On the reverse side, the coin showcases the iconic Winged Victory statue at a new angle than the standard 50 Peso. It also features the writing “Bicentenario”, the pure grams of gold, “37.5 Oro Puro”, the years of Mexico’s independence “1810 – 2010”, and then the mint mark of Casa de Moneda De México.
The obverse side of the coin shows the Mexican Coat of Arms, depicted by an eagle perching on a cactus while clutching a serpent in its beak. Surrounding the image are the words “Estados Unidos Mexicanos”.
This coin contains 37.5g or 1.2057 ozt of gold. It is made of 90% gold and 10% copper, this ensures that the coin is more resistant to damages.
